Hi, I'd love to build this, but I have mindstorms EV3. Any clues or alternative step by step instructions where you can point me to?

Hey Antonio,

I'm planning on posting instructions for TrotBot with EV3 soon, in meantime, there are instructions on how to build the TrotBot linkage mechanism on the TrotBot build instructions. You can use those to build an iteration of TrotBot that uses EV3 if you want.

About your suggestion, do you mean that I build the 4 legs of the trotbot the same way you did and then try to adapt it to EV3?

I need to find that metal part you bought in homedepot and buy some new lego parts that I don't have yet.

Please, keep me posted on any news on the EV3 version.

Yep, thats what I mean.

I just finished a version of TrotBot using EV3 which I should be posting soon, so its definitely doable. The only major changes to the design are on the frame.

Good luck finding the parts, I'd love to hear about your progress!

Sounds good, if your going to build with EV3 you should know that I powered it with two EV3 medium motors, the part id is 6008577.

The EV3 kit only comes with one so if you want to go that route you'll have to order another one from online.

I'm sure a build would work with the larger motors as well, but I found them to be bulky and sluggish when building with NXT.

Oh, that Strider build is amazing.... any chance of a parts list so I can start figuring a budget?
